The drive for the Nov 1, 2025 - Oct 31, 2026 membership is almost wrapping up. Thanks to the canvassers who have been door knocking to encourage you to sign up. We currently have 43% of households with memberships, so we are a little short on our goal of 80%.
Many residents have reported that there is more activity and signs of a connected community over the past year. This requires accessible space and a group of volunteers who maintain the hall, host events, and organize ongoing connection with other community groups, local institutions and, of course, city hall.
So why should you buy a membership this weekend?
• Membership provides financial support to the community hall, which is managed by volunteers who work to ensure we can keep the lights on and offer a range of events throughout the year.
• Membership shows support for our community association which provides a community voice regarding issues such as zoning, traffic, and ongoing development pressures - and your community e-newsletter.
• Membership supports free or low-cost community activities (neighbour day, community cleanup, soccer, 55+ club), and the increased events of the Building Connected Communities project. We hear stories of new connections and reconnections after 15 years when their children were last together on the soccer field.
• Membership enables free access to the tennis courts and reduced rate on hall rentals
• And, all this is for only $30 for a family and $20 for seniors!
