|| = || __ JANE’S WALK
Jane has skipped out of town, but Clarence Kort is going to do a Jane’s Walk. It’s next Saturday (May 3rd) leaving from the community hall at 10am.
_____________
Walkers will also meet SAHCA’s new Community Connector, Olivia Smith. She’d like to know what future activities you might be interested in enjoying (in SAH). She has also started a community Instagram page.
_____________
The Jane’s Walk is based on the work of Jane Jacobs who was an urbanist. It brings people together to better understand our natural environment (even in the City).
The walk will go along Toronto Crescent, then decend down the hill into the natural area. Claremce will discuss the plants and creatures that live there - and the history of the area. He will also talk about how local communities are using this green space.
The group will then climb back up and head to the Tobaggan Hill before returning to the Hall. The event is expected to last 60 to 90 minutes.
The walk is free, but does require registration (Maximum of 30 walkers). Signup here. Then meet at the Hall at 10am.
Clarence. Kort, who is leading the walk, is a community and board member, botanist, birder, runner and community ethusiast. Does that technically make it a Clarence Walk?
_____________
Those who are up for it are also welcome to help with a bit of a spring cleanup on the Toboggan Hill and around the Hall after the walk.
