In the coming weeks, you will see increased activity happening around the stadium. We wanted to share a rough estimate of our construction timelines for your awareness.
What
To improve safety and support the revitalization of Foothills Athletic Park, we will be removing unused amenities at the Foothills Stadium (next to McMahon Stadium) in the coming weeks.
Why
We are removing these amenities (spectator seating, concessions, ticket booths, washrooms, the outfield wall, and lighting infrastructure) over the winter, so the ball diamond is ready for Calgarians to safely enjoy this spring.
This change positions the park for its next chapter, continuing to help Calgarians meaningfully enjoy an active lifestyle and vibrant sports culture.
Who
Adjacent Calgarians may notice construction activity including increased noise, vehicle and pedestrian traffic, and more.
When
Our current approach is below, though it may change depending on weather, material availability, and other aspects.
Once weather permits, we’ll also complete minor landscaping and finishing work this spring.
Additional Information
We’re working closely with our consultant/contractor to minimize any impacts during this change. Please watch for and observe construction signage onsite.
Access to the adjacent buildings and parkades will remain open unless short-term, temporary access is required for our crews. If this is required, we’ll provide prior notice.
