|| = || __ NO COVENANT?


Many of us have recently learned about a legal designation placed on some of the properties in St Andrews Heights long ago.


The agreement is between neighbours to ensure the community will be protected from over-development (such as apartment buildings).


While many properties in SAH have this covenant, many do not. Those without the covenant are planning a meeting to discuss how they can go about getting one.


Without the covenant, a buyer could potentially purchase several properties, then build an apartment or business tower. The City considers this a great ‘densification’ option. Also where there is one, there are likely to be more down the road.


This could dramatically change the neighbourhood we all know and love. More traffic. More noise. More challenges for parking.


This is the message shared by the meeting organizer:

”A group of us without restrictive covenants on our properties are getting together to discuss adding covenants to our properties. Open to anyone. The plan is to enjoy a glass of wine or beer (BYOB).”

Location: SAH Hall (2504 13 Ave NW)

Date:Saturday, January 11th

Time: 5:00pm to 6:30pm


All neighbours are encouraged to join the meeting (with focus on those without the covenant).

As this is a legal matter between homeowners, the SAH Community Association is not involved. However, because of the interest in this topic by community residents, SAHCA has agreed to share information with residents through their communication channels.
