|| = || __ CITY-WIDE TREASURE HUNT

Declutter and Discover. A city-wide Treasure Hunt will take place next weekend (September 7th and 8th).

The City is promoting an opportunity for communities across Calgary to reduce waste and connect residents. 

All you do is set out items that you no longer need/want on your front lawn, giving others a chance to take whatever they might use, for free. It is a way to reuse all that stuff that collects in our basements that we really don’t use anymore. And gives another person something that could be really helpful!

It is voluntary and self-managed. These are the recommended steps: 

1. Look through your home and gather any reusable items that you no longer need. 

2. Mark them with a “Free” label and place them at the curb on the designated event days. 

3. Treasure hunters rejoice! Anyone can come and pick up these items for their own use – it’s like a free garage sale right at your doorstep! 

4. If it's still on the curb, let’s keep the community tidy and bring it back in your house.

September 29th is our community cleanup - held in partnership with University Heights.

This event allows residents to get rid of that junk - that nobody wants.

Old mattresses. Beaten up furniture. Lumber from fences and decks that have been replaced. Even old electronics.

Let it go!!

Just take it to the parking lot next to the Community Hall on the side next to University Drive. Go between the hours of 9am and 1pm on September 29th.

Note: *** Items left outside of these times will be considered illegal dumping. The people leaving them may be charged.***

Hey! Just do it at the right time and you can be rid of that junk in your trunk. Or attic. Or basement. Or garage … Guilt free! Weewwhooo!!!
