The owner called police.
It took them a while to show up. Meanwhile the guy wasn’t stopping.
After the police arrived, they took him away. They did later tell her that a) he had her address in his pocket and b) they thought his actions might have been sexually motivated. However, they also thought it was unlikely they would be able to charge him.
The neighbour didn’t sleep at all last night. She’s worried it might happen again - or happen to others.
She is also worried about what was going on that he had her address in his pocket. The address makes it seem planned in some way.
Please be cautious when coming and going at later times of the day. Think about how you might add additional security to your property (gate locks, cameras, etc). This is also a good reason to get to know your neighbours (and watch out for each other).
If anyone is interested in starting a neighbourhood watch program, please share your thoughts. This generally involves organizing a team of volunteers who take shifts driving around the community during certain hours of the day to watch for problems and prepared to report issues. Note: Volunteers would not confront anyone directly.
In any case, please be aware this has happened - in our community.
