The U of C Grizzlies Speed Skating Club did get three registrations for skating lessons - though the minimum to go forward was six. They will be giving the three a few free lessons. Meanwhile they are planning for next winter.
After some feedback from one of our residents, they realize they likely need to advertise earlier in the season (so families aren’t already booked up with other activities).
The Grizzlies plan to take this advice.
Meanwhile, if this is something that might interest someone in your family (of any age, male or female), please make a note for next year. Then watch for updates in the SAHCA eNews (or Facebook page) in the Fall of 2024.
Don’t forget - those who attend don’t need to know how to speed skate - or even how to skate!
It’s a chance to learn. It’s a chance to have some fun. Your age doesn’t matter. Your experience doesn’t matter. Even the type of skates you have doesn’t matter.
The coaches have speed skated at provincial and national levels.
