|| = || __ GRIZZLY SKATING CONDITIONS

With the really warm weather in progress and the temperature staying above 0 at night, the ice will not be good for Saturday’s speed skating lesson. The Grizzlies (organizers of the speed skating lessons) have decided to cancel the first session on February 3rd.

The weather is suppose to drop again next week. They are, therefore, planning for the first session to be on (Saturday) February 10th and the last (fourth session) to be on March 2nd.

Please watch the eNews for any further changes that might come up based on evolving weather conditions.

|| = || __ YOUTH SOCCER

The SAHCA Soccer program is a great way to learn basic soccer skills through fun drills, practice and games. It is also a wonderful opportunity to engage with other families within the community.

New this year - We have joined Tim Hortons Timbits Sports Program!

Tim Hortons sponsors community youth soccer programs, providing jerseys, balls, participant medals and other items to participants.

For Spring 2024, we are anticipating running 3 different in-community leagues:

  • Timbits U4 - children born in 2020 or 2021

  • Timbits U6 - children born in 2018 or 2019

  • Timbits U8 - children born in 2016 or 2017

Come out and join us! Visit https://www.standrewsheights.ca/soccer for more information and to register!

*SAHCA Parents - Do you have teenagers/university students at home who have soccer experience and would be interested in helping coach a U4, U6 or U8 team? Coaching experience is a great addition to young resumes, a way to give back to the community and an opportunity to be a positive role model. Please contact Soccer@standrewsheights.com if interested.

|| = || __ TENNIS

As some of you know, the Community Association has had to change access to the Tennis Courts due to people allowing dogs in to ‘use’ the courts. We are working on a permanent solution, but in the meanwhile, please note:

  • The gate will be chain locked with a combination lock

  • If you would like to use the courts, please contact Kevin (403-613-1227) to get the combination code

  • Users are responsible for keeping the gate closed and re-chaining / re-locking properly using the combination lock when they leave the court

This is a temporary measure until the automated gate system is fixed. We expect that to happen very soon.

If you are not already on our email list (or Facebook page), please join and encourage neighbours to join as well. It's an easy way to stay up-to-date with all that's going on in and around the 'hood.
