|| = || __ SOCCER REVIEW . Fun in Action
A week of Summer Soccer Camp (July 25-29), provided by Triple Meg Soccer, and held at the Chief Crowfoot playfield, was topped off with skills contests and ice cream on the final day. Seventeen players participated.
One of the skills contests used a radar gun to measure ball speed: this was a big hit with the kids.
The weather was perfect, sunny and dry and not too hot, with the training beginning at 9 am and continuing for 3 hours to noon every day. When it did get a little hot running around in the sunshine, the kids took breaks and kept cool in the shade of a gazebo that was provided. Fun in action was had by all players and coaches throughout the week.
Each day consisted of dribbling, passing, and ball control challenges. The players were all keen to play and participate. Each morning started with a "coaches vs players" game. The players had an outstanding record of 5-0.
Maybe next year the coaches will win a game… see you all again then!”
A SAD NOTELong time community resident Roy Maxwell passed away peacefully in Calgary on July 3, 2022.

THE FLOWER THAT CREEPS
The Creeping Bellflower is a noxious weed - though many people don't realize. It's also extremely difficult to get rid of once you have it in your yard. Unfortunately, it is making its way into a lot of alleys and yards in St Andrews Heights. This is how to get rid of it:

One of our neighbours mentions that it takes a lot of pulling-pulling-pulling before it's gone from your yard. Pulling it out once is not enough to put an end to it. You have to keep pulling until it can't sustain itself any longer. Those who have managed to get rid of it appreciate others not letting it come back again.
